Down with the Islamist, Fascist Mullah Regime! January 14, 2026 Following the nationwide protests in 2022 against the massive oppression of girls and women in particular, there are now once again massive protests against the Islamist, fascist mullah regime. Large segments of the Iranian population have been protesting for two weeks. As progressive and revolutionary people, we wholeheartedly support this. Rebellion is justified! Down with the mullah regime! The mullah regime is responding as it has done since the beginning of its rule—with brutal violence, murder, and manslaughter. Their arguments are always the same: the protests are instigated by the Zionists and U.S. imperialism and must therefore be crushed by any means necessary. That is nonsense. The masses—large segments of the Iranian people—want to put an end to the Islamist terror that has poisoned their entire lives and already claimed countless lives. The oppression and corruption, as well as the effects of the economic crisis, have become unbearable. Pure hardship and despair are driving many into the streets, despite all the dangers. It is also true, however, that—as we saw last summer—the Mossad has infiltrated thousands of people into Iran; they are even said to be operating their own drone production facilities within the country. They are capitalizing on the population’s discontent and stoking it. But they did not spark the protests. U.S. imperialism is also trying to play a major role and is even threatening military intervention.Trump brazenly claims that he is concerned about human rights and wants to protect the people of Iran. Demagogue and hypocrite. Anyone can see and understand that he is very much interested in overthrowing the mullahs’ regime, but he is in no way concerned with the interests of the Iranian people. From a geostrategic perspective, Iran—a country the U.S. does not control—has been a thorn in its side for decades. It is no coincidence that the Shah’s son lives in exile in the U.S. He is also said to have urged the U.S. to overthrow the regime by military means. Haven’t you seen what the U.S. imperialists and their allies have done to Iraq? They’ve bombed Iraq—a civilization thousands of years old—back to the Dark Ages, costing the lives of over a million Iraqis. They talked about “nation-building”—but what they did was “nation-destroying.” The Iranian people themselves must overthrow the mullah regime, relying on their own strength, through a progressive democratic program. This is difficult—incredibly difficult—but not impossible. They must fight both the reactionary forces within the country and those from abroad. Calls for help regarding the Shah’s son and U.S. imperialism, it is to be feared, will only lead from the frying pan into the fire. Naivety in this situation is fatal. The fact that Trump couldn’t care less about human lives is evident every day, for example in Palestine. Even though a ceasefire is currently in effect in Gaza, the genocide and crimes against the Palestinian people continue. An unspeakable crime that the German government has also supported unreservedly and continues to do so. What Trump wants, what U.S. imperialism wants, are Iran’s mineral resources and its oil and gas, and a compliant country—or even to turn it into a colony. Or to destroy Iran, just as they did Iraq, as a great civilization and nation, and set it back centuries. Down with the mullah regime!
