Statement 2026-05
Down with the criminal war waged by the U.S. and Israel against Iran! -
Imperialists out of Iran
As was to be feared, the U.S., through its outpost in the Middle East - Israel - has launched a war of aggression against Iran following months of military preparations, including gunboat diplomacy involving warships, aircraft carriers, and the like. International law - it doesn’t exist for them. We’ve already seen this with Venezuela. The stated justification - that this is a preventive war and that Iran must be bombed before it can build nuclear weapons - is just as flimsy as the one used during the war against Iraq. And besides: The country with the most nuclear weapons and the largest military in the world wants to prohibit all other countries (except those that already possess them) from obtaining them as well? The so-called Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (See: The so-called Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and Iran) between the two superpowers of the time, the U.S. and the Soviet Union, was, from the very beginning, a tool of blackmail against the rest of the world. Now the U.S./Trump wants to ban Iran from enriching uranium even for civilian nuclear energy use. And this dictate is now to be enforced militarily. Just before the attack, it was reported: "Meanwhile, during a visit to Texas, U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters that he demands that no uranium enrichment take place in Iran, not even for civilian use. 'I say: no enrichment,' Trump said." Die Zeit, Feb. 28, 2026) If the U.S. tries to whitewash its imperialist war against Iran by pretending to help the Iranian people, that is nothing but deceitful propaganda. The American people shouldn’t get dragged into this either, because such attacks and such policies certainly don’t defend them. Trump spoke of “imminent threats” from Iran - as if they weren’t in the middle of negotiations that, according to reports from Oman, were actually progressing positively. As if they want to free the Iranian people from the brutal mullahs’ dictatorship and bring them peace and freedom. That’s just as hypocritical as it was back then with Iraq. It wouldn’t be the first time the U.S. has tried to overthrow a government in Iran; the last time was in 1953, after the democratically elected Iranian President Mossadegh nationalized the oil industry.
The Iranian people cannot achieve real progress if they are reduced to mere pawns in the wake of the attack by U.S. imperialism and Israel, becoming their lackeys. That is what is being attempted now. As can be seen from the media, efforts have been underway for some time to place the son of the former Iranian dictator Pahlavi at the helm by any means necessary.A force operating from the United States, which the U.S. itself has called upon to launch a military strike against Iran. Just as with U.S. imperialism, there can be no progress in this; Iran’s own history also demonstrates this. Ultimately, only the Iranian people themselves can achieve this through a necessary democratic revolution. One that is directed against all the old clerical and outdated reactionary forces that are being imposed on them, as well as against foreign imperialists. Which, given the current circumstances, the interference, and the ongoing war, is certainly incredibly difficult. Bringing about such a democratic revolution is being actively thwarted and mocked by this war, by the attacks on Iran, and indeed by the policies of the U.S. and Israel. As Trump said in his statement on the strike against Iran: “When we’re done, take over your government. It will belong to you.” The U.S. is attempting to assert its dominance over the Iranian people, to bring the Iranian uprisings and their democratic aspirations under the control of forces that are favorable to or subservient to it, and to maintain that control. It cannot be ruled out—given the tendency of U.S. imperialism—that they may even attempt to strike deals in the future with other forces from the former regime, aside from the current leadership, which they have already “decapitated.” How many coups, coups d’état, and even assassinations of presidents - all in the service of their own interests - have the U.S. imperialists had on their conscience since their rise to world power at the beginning of the 20th century?! We must not forget that. The Iranian people are of no concern whatsoever to U.S. imperialism and the Zionist terrorist state. Just like the Palestinian people, for example. They are concerned with their imperialist interests. They are concerned with their geostrategic interests and, not least, with Iran’s oil and mineral resources. Control of Eurasia (Europe and the Middle East), which includes Russia, is a key element of the U.S. imperialist strategy to counter its main rival, China. For decades now, the U.S. has been trying to control and subjugate Iran, and if that fails, simply to destroy it. They believe they are the world’s number one power, the hegemon - and they think they want to remain so. And of course, the war also serves as a distraction from the economic and social bankruptcy of the U.S. itself, from which Trump and Co. want to divert attention. Netanyahu, of course . The utterly reactionary, murderous regime must go - yes. But that is a matter for the Iranian people. The Iranian people would go from bad to worse if their government were overthrown by U.S. imperialism through war, with the Shah’s son acting as its lackey. How could anything progressive possibly emerge on such a basis? Instead of freedom and progress, what is to be feared is the fragmentation and destruction of Iran as a unified nation and civilization.Cautionary examples include the fate of Iraq, Libya, and Syria, where U.S.-led imperialism has consistently fought against dictators and championed so-called “human rights” and democracy. Just how hollow the rhetoric of those who speak of freedom, democracy, international law, and human rights is can be seen, as with the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people, once again in the stance taken by the Western partners of the U.S. and Israel. Since Trump’s second term, verbal attacks have been directed at him (and there is even talk of “U.S. imperialism” again)—but in reality, they kowtow to him, even going so far as to openly fawn over him. Western and European leaders can no longer even imagine a life without overlords. But things are getting even worse. Given the way things stand, it was hardly to be expected that the lackeys of U.S. imperialism would condemn—or even criticize—this criminal war against Iran. That’s bad enough. But it becomes downright disgusting when Macron, Starmer, and Merz now step forward and call on Iran to refrain from any defensive strikes against the aggressors! Iran, a nation with a civilization dating back a thousand years,
must be defended!
